Angoisse and panic attack

If you have social anxiety or panic attacks, these are my best tips! Being myself subject to these problems, I think I can help you:')

If you suspect you are subject to too much panic, or constant stress: TALK TO A MEDECIN. These tips work for me. I don't have infuse science.

Steps

  1. 1

    Social anxiety

What's that? "Social anxiety is part of the great family of anxiety disorders. Social anxiety is manifested by intense fear associated with certain social activities or performance situations where the person is likely to be observed by others." Basically, you're freaks who don't like people (same here twin,) It's something that diagnoses!

    Panic crisis what is

When you have social anxiety, you tend to have panic attacks. Except what's that again? What triggers it? Your brain, it's a little stupid... it only has two physiological states: fear or ok. Social anxiety makes our brain think that it is constantly in a hostile environment, and therefore puts all our senses on alert. And in x100,000, because otherwise it's not funny. The panic attack is when the brain has received too many external stimuli. Bonus, since your cortisol level is ultra high, it also becomes a stimulus for your brain! And there, your brain just no-clip in an alternative universe that has a direct impact on your body.. tremors, tinnitus, crying, aggressiveness... in short, the joy of living

    A little bio

If you're curious about how stress works, these are the patterns I'm studying during bio... Acute stress: "normal" stress, which occurs only over short periods: cortisol is well regulated, and is self-innibiting. Chronic stress: basically, too cortisol, kills cortisol: it is supposed to allow to lower the level of stress, but there are many that our body no longer knows how to manage it.

    How can we avoid this?

It's all nice, but what to do to prevent it from happening to us, or at least delay the deadline.
  5. 5

    Before the convention.

    - Dormir. - Sleep early, do things that relax you. - If your cosplay isn't ready, well, that's fine. Don't worry more than you already are.. - Eat well - Prepare your bag early.
  6. 6

    Morning to the Convention

    - Take a good hot shower: relax - Get up a little early. If the conv starts at 10:00, and you have to leave at 9:00, get up at 7:00, see 6:30. Hence to lie down at an hour RESONNABLE. > This allows you to: prepare your cosplay, have a real breakfast, prepare yourself psychologically, and relax.
  7. 7

    Stimulis

To avoid stimuli. - If you wear glasses: Take your glasses! Adapted your cosplay/masque etc to the ability to wear glasses. - Adapt your masks so you can RESPIRE ;-; (I swear it helps) - Avoid interactions: if you don't feel comfortable anymore, don't hesitate to say it: no photo, no blablabla... - Take ear plugs or a helmet: more noise, it feels good...

    Dora and her backpack

To be expected: - water, water - food (comfort snack) - money, and not just 30€... plan a little more- it may be stressful to think we don't have enough - medicines: dolipranes, spasfon, antadys... - one charger + external battery

What to do: I wear a cosplay (#1)

You know, when you come to a cosplay convention, you're super excited, and you feel like you're growing wings. Except that cosplay is not necessarily a barrier against anxiety attacks... and often the reverse. Do not feel forced to RP your character permanently: perso, my fetish cosplay, this is Ant.Tenna from Deltarune... It's a super-extraverted boug. And I'm pretty introverted when there's too many people. You might as well say my Tenna isn't as alive as the one in the game. The goal of the cosplay is to have fun and be comfortable. If you just want to wear it because you like it, nothing forces you to incarnate the person! Even more if it makes you uncomfortable!

What to do: I wear a cosplay (#2)

Don't be afraid to say no. Many people (especially if you have a pretty niche fandom where fans are very RP fast), will want to interact with the character... photo, hug, talk, rp... Become a Disney Park character: say no, or remain silent by giving a clear gesture of rejection. If the person is not too stupid in front of you, I will understand that we must not push. Have a suitable cosplay: When creating cosplay, remember that you are anxious people. Try to adapt your cosplay so you're the chilliest in it. Stupid, personal, I wear glasses, and without being blind:') I managed to put my glasses in my Tenna mask! Knowing that I can see clearly (moderately, I'm in a box anyway), helps to be less stressed. Also, in convention, it makes BAAAAAD warm: have a ventilated cosplay. Or at least with which you can easily drink water.

What to do: I wear a cosplay (#3)

The locker room will be your best friends. It's not uncommon for the changing rooms to be free for cosplayers... Bring a second bag, with spare clothes, comfortable and not too hot. So if mid convention you don't feel like having a cosplay anymore: hop, you give it to the locker room and you change! When there are no changing rooms, it is not uncommon that you could enter and exit the convention as you want with a stamp on your hand or a bracelet... leave your spare stuff in your car (if you came by car), it will make you a locker room from Wish, but trkl. If you have come in transport: try to see with Security! They're here to help you. They often have a dedicated area to them, ask nicely if you can leave your bag... and if you want to change, if you can drop some of your cosplay stuff in a corner.

    Being alone is good. Boyfriends!

Try not to go to convention alone. Find you someone to go with, like that, if you need help, you won't be alone. Personally, I always go with my best friend, and recently with my girlfriend. Both know that I am extremely sensitive to crowds and noise. Several times, they allowed me to get out of a start of panic... thanks to them. Go with people of trust, who know you well, and who know how to handle your crisis situations. One final solution is to look for people who go to the same convention as you! On the Internet, in your city... etc... There are often insta and discord groups of cosplayers who create themselves to help! Do your research upstream! Besides, do not hesitate to use your friends as a barrier against the surrounding population... especially if you do not want any interaction.

    Merchant Stands

Just go see the stalls of the little designers. In general, they're as stressed as you are, and they're much more fun than the big stands. You will have more facilities to communicate with them. In addition, it's much better to support small creators than to buy Temu and others drop-shipping... And even if you can't buy anything, it's okay! Find a seller who does something that you're part of... that's often the case for them too! Talking to them about something you know well with someone from the same fandom, it's often reassuring! And then, when you go to a stand, in general, it attracts people... it's psychological. It means potential customers for small designers! Above all, do not hesitate to say that you like their creations! It's always fun!

    After the Convention

In a few steps: - take a shower (you could be frr, plus it slows down) - Put yourself in a pajamas, in a confo... naked outfit if you like it - Eat something comforting. - Go to the pious: watch stupid videos, read, sleep... Anyway, clear your head. .

    After the convention: I'm over-stimulated.e

After a convention, it's not uncommon for all your senses to be on alert. As a result, you feel like everything is attacking you: sounds, lights, your own body... A few tips: - take a shower, not too hot or too cold. Take your time! - wear comfortable clothes. - put soft lights in your environment. - No music! White noises like the sea help. Not in a helmet, on a loudspeaker/hi-fi chain c But don't be too loud. - Sit down: no phone/screens. If you need to do something, do relaxing activities: puzzle, drawing, reading, hugging moment with your animals... - Drink a lot of water! If you have trouble with this: take a herbal tea. NO SCREENED OR CAFFEINE-BASED WOOD. No, not anymore. The goal is to lower your brain activity. Calm is master word.

    Conclusion

The goal of a convention is to have fun (and to become poor at the same time). Not to suffer. Don't feel like growing wings. Put your limits down. Have good people accompany you. Take care. Full of strength my little tight underpants, we're together
