Steps

  1. Moodboarding

    Moodboard is a tool that will allow you to capture the vibe of your character. It will allow you to create the outfit, his personality... You can easily create one on Capcut or collage tools. For the pictures, I advise you to go on Pinterest.

  2. Inspiration

    For this step, which is one of the easiest, you'll simply go and pick inspirations from several characters. Be it personality, dress, appearance, whatever! Inspired by characters created for your OC. The references I prefer are Toilet Bound Hanako-kun, where the characters almost all have a different vibe and the appearance is very beautiful, the notebooks of the apothecary, for its ancient side and the absolutely beautiful names, or even animated films such as "I want to eat your pencreas", "Près de tou, afar from me" or "Your Name".

  3. Design

    Probably one of the steps you're going to make your head more complicated. For that, your pencils, your paper, see your graphic tablet if you have one. You're gonna have to draw your character. Because we're not gonna lie to each other, we like our character to be pretty and match us. I advise you to draw four drawings: the front of the character, the back of the character, a close-up on the head and accessories. Don't forget: don't need your drawing to be perfect! You can always improve it with sites after! You just have to be the visual of the person. Another little tip: go get on Pinterest basics. Just type "OC base," you'll have a lot of inspiration.

  4. Personality

    Is your design created? Now you can move on to the personality of your character. Is he smiling? Hypocrite? Too nice? You can draw inspiration from characters or people you know, even from yourself! This is a chill stage, which will take you between 15 and 20 minutes, see less. Your moodboard will certainly help you!

  5. The manners of the characters

    How does he behave? Does he have any tics? His approach? His body language? Because yes, it doesn't seem important to you and you will tend to neglect this step, and yet! This is one of the most important stages for roleplayer! Don't neglect her!

  6. Identity

    Yes, it seems to you to be the most important and yes, it passes last of character design. It's normal, even if you don't realize it. First name, age, last name, origin, date of birth. These are the 5 information that the identity contains. And the only ones you need.

  7. To go further...

    You can take more information about your characters. For example, what he likes to eat, his home, his way of life... All his little things that will allow you to know him better. This is the only step that is not mandatory.

  8. Character CV

    You got everything? You can go to the CV! It will allow you to easily explain your character. You'll rely on him for the presentation. I advise you to use Canva, but there are many other sites!
