To take
Bringing your cosplay isn't enough, you'd have to have a backup bag to handle the small unexpected. Make-up, thread, needle, pins, an outfit/pair of replacement shoes in case your cosplay is really uncomfortable, etc... (I will not dwell on the subject because there is already a very complete tuto named "Photographer/model" by Ivy_the_queen - 3
Choose location (1)
The choice of place is as important as the choice of poses. This will be the background of your photos so the choice must be considered. First of all, the place must have a connection with the character (a princess in a castle, a super villain in an alley, a student in a school, etc...). - 4
Choose location (2)
It would be impossible to find an emblematic place of the series in real life so you should find something that is approaching. Just try to find a type of place where the character is used to seeing (no need to find incredible places: the park in front of you can do the job very well, just avoid too big off the subject) - 5
Choose pose (1)
After the place, the poses! As for the place, trying not to make off-the-ground poses. Its must not necessarily be spectacular, a simple pose like: combat position, using its power, etc... Try to find emblematic poses and if there is nothing and well invented according to the personality of your person - 6
Choose poses (2)
You can use your cosplay. Try to play with your props, your drag if you have one, your skirt, etc... And you can also play with the elements around you: throwing leaves/flowers, playing with water, etc. - 7
Choose pose (3)
You can INSPIRE another cosplayer work and then copy a photo of another cosplayer to the letter it's less fun - 8
Request advice
If you are completely lost even after all her and well... ask your photographer for advice. Explain to him your vision and he/she may know how to help you - 9
Shooting at home 1
If you can't move too much or you're just a casanier and well you can think about shooting at home. Sure, there won't be any incredible scenery, but when you have the flump, it's good - 10
Shooting at home 2
You can simply create your decors yourself: the 3m coupon of fabrics that drags you ever used, lianas, some flowers and hop, its can very well do the job. You just have to be imaginative - 11
End
It's the end of my little tuto to do a shoot, I hope her will help you (I may add things if I learn more). On this bye and good shooting.
