    Precautions for use

Neoprene is a very effective glue but be careful! She is very dangerous and we must be vigilant! Although the Cosplay community tends to minimize the risks of our activities, we must protect ourselves. In the case of neoprene: Gloves to avoid severe skin irritation. A mask to avoid toxic vapours that can cause drowsiness, dizziness, or even carcinogenic risks. And obviously... we don't put in the mouth! It's poison! And we really have the room! And no flames or cigarettes, the fumes are flammable. .

    Where can I find them?

In any big surface! DIY radius, there are almost always with several brands and with several different uses. For example for furniture, shoes or other. Overall it is mainly a question of strength exerted on glue that comes into play but for the cosplay most of the time it are light elements, flexible and without really needing a very great resistance on the props* or accessory see the armor. *Props: word used in Cosplay to designate an accessory/element that is not actually attached to the holding. Example: a sword, a firearm (factice), a fan, a rod.

    What format?

As mentioned earlier, most of the time, the tube format is the easiest to use. As much for its application as for the preservation of glue but also for the little space needed. But sometimes, when you do a lot of Cosplay or if you have a Cosplay that requires BEAUCOUP of glue, it is more advantageous to invest in neoprene pots. They can be found in DIY stores or on specialized sites. Here, for example, it is a product from Cosplay shop. Note: We will only talk about the tube format here.

    What surfaces?

Honestly almost anything that is solid can stick with neoprene. Simili leather, leather, plastic, Eva foam, thick fabric (if the fabric is too thin, neoprene leaves visible marks...), cardboard, wool and many others. Nevertheless, do a test on your surface before you complete your project. We're not safe from a bad surprise with a surface that "cooks" or this deform under the influence of glue.

    Use

We're going to get to the heart of the subject. How to use this scary glue that smells super bad. It's super simple. The glue is applied to the two surfaces that you want to glue together (attention without overflowing from the precise joint area). For example, the slices are applied to the pieces of foam that you want to assemble. With this glue it can be possible to be generous but not too much, otherwise the glue drys badly and in a non-homogeneous way. Other info, the liquid+ or - viscous tending to come out of the tube by itself, so be careful, you don't press too hard and you don't put on beautiful clothes and protect the working area (a thought to my favorite jeans that to meet too close the famous neoprene...). Once the glue is applied, wait 15 minutes. And it's very important. Otherwise the two surfaces will not properly fix and it will move. Then, after the time has elapsed, proceed with the assembly. This is a perilous step because neoprene does not allow for repositioning. It is therefore necessary to take your time and gently to have beautiful finishes. Then, 3 seconds is enough for the glue to be effective. And that's it!

    Why this glue

Why is this glue better than your love glue gun? Already it is much stronger and holds much better on some surfaces, all without literally melting your foam or plastic. Then, it's more flexible a bit like gum/slime sticky, where the stick glue is rough and brittle. And finally, it's much lighter. Cosplayers who start getting bottled will tell you very often. The big problem with big cosplay is weight. Go spend a day of convention with 15kg of cosplay on you. Some do and they regret.

    Waste

Neoprene glue is dangerous to the environment. All that's been defiled by the glue is a garbage dump and we don't leave it out. Similarly for the accessory (or other) you created. We're cosplayers and we're preserving the planet, please. Our hobby is already quite polluting enough like that.

    In short.

It's a cheap glue. Very solid. Great practice. Light. She has many advantages. But do not neglect your health and put on equipment, aerate the room and be careful when using it. I hope I was helpful and good craft! Note: even if my tutorial was helpful to you. Read the instructions on the back of your glue. From one brand to another it can vary.
