Steps

  1. Parrot

    Name; m Ungraded tool used to plot curves. It is used especially for armholes, collars, clamps.

  2. Boss

    Name; m. Paper piece on which the shape of a garment is drawn. This does not include sewing values.

  3. Basic Boss

    Name; m Custom boss, representing parts of the body. Ex: Basic pattern of bust, sleeve or pants. You cannot sew this pattern as it is, because it reproduces your body in accuracy. So you can't put it on like a garment. However, you can make it a custom sewing model.

  4. Patronage

    Name; m Patron with added seam values, and other indications concerning the assembly of the garment (wire right, stitches, etc...)

  5. Sewing value

    Name; f It is more commonly called the seam margin. It is necessary to sew a garment. Its width depends on the size of the room.

  6. Pointing

    Name; m Indication added on a sponsorship. Ex: small cross drawn to indicate the location of a pocket.

  7. Cran

    Name; m Small cut on the edge of a pattern indicating a fold or overlay with another piece (cran on cran).

    Name; f Small serrated castor that allows to reproduce curves by transparency.

  9. Japanese rule

    Name; f Rule graduated and gridded every centimetres. It's transparent. It allows to shift patterns to add sewing values in particular.
