   What kind of wig?

   Before looking for and buying a wig, it is important to think about the type of wig you are looking for and its use. For example, if you don't want to waste too much time stylizing a wig, there are "pre-stylized" ones that you can wear almost without working it! (often creped in advance, and easier to stylize)

   What kind of wig #2

   There are also "front lace", which are perfect for a natural rendering of hair implantation, with a net to cut for the natural effect. But they are more expensive than classic wigs and few recommended to beginners, as they require a minimum of technique.

   Finally, if the character has a unique cut and one does not find his wig, it is possible to buy one/several wig of "less good" quality to use it as a basis. It's especially useful for small budgets that can't afford to commission someone, and less serious if you make a mistake on a €10 wig instead of one at €30!

   ⚠️ Attention ⚠️

   In order not to get caught on some wigs, it is strongly recommended to read customer reviews, preferably with photos! The more good ratings and positive reviews a wig has, the more likely it is that the wig is qualitative compared to the price! This vigilance is recommended mainly on sites such as Aliexpress, Amazon or low-known and/or low-recognised sites. You should also be careful that the reference image is not used on several other ads, as it may indicate an image theft (not very professional)

   Arda wigs

   One of the best known sites, they offer a very large palette of quality wig color and style, and are renowned for their lace front. However, there is less wig for specific characters than elsewhere (the wig being "basic") and the price is more expensive.

   Aliexpress etc...

   Whether it's Aliexpress, Amazon or other similar sites, it's the same principle: a great choice of wig at a low price. But the wigs don't always match the picture of the ad. ( It is therefore important to carefully look for the opinions and the note of the advertisement to really know what the wig is worth (see the "attention" stage)

   Kasou Wig

   A specialized site that I particularly like They have a wide choice of wig and offer wigs of known universe characters. The quality is very good (wig provided, often pre-stylized and heat resistant) and the price fairly affordable, on average 30 € I've been ordering at home since my Tamaki cosplay and I've never had any problems at home.

   Vinted

   More and more cosplayers sell their old cosplay on resale sites, including wigs! Prices are often reasonable, but sometimes some price higher than quality. Don't hesitate to ask for more details and/or photos of the wig to avoid bad surprises! (hole in the wig, pre-stylized, mark, state...)

    Commissions

    It is also possible to pass a commission to a cosplayer who will make your wig tailor-made! Often, it is requested to make a quote to avoid any quiproquo. On the other hand, prices are much higher, not counting custom requests, and vary according to the cosplayer who sets its prices (including base, manufacture, delivery etc.) We can make a commission on Etsy, or directly to cosplayer who propose it on their networks! Attention is also paid to the deadlines for commissions.

    Other advice

    Some tips can help choose your wig: - wig reviews on networks (Insta/YouTube etc): often honest reviews, and it also works with cosplay! - the cosplayer reviews you follow: if they share the sites where they order their wig and you like their rendering - Reuse your wig if possible! It saves money and delivery time.
